On a Personal Note

I don't know who holds the reigns to ones future. The self or things like fate, destiny or God. I would love to believe that the key lies with me, but more often than not, I find myself locked out of entry points to opportunities, personal or professional, even though I earnestly earned them. They say, such times make one tougher. If by tougher, they mean 'desensitized', they are probably correct. In the end, the things that society validates most is what we all crave to attain, in a mad rat race. Inexplicably, some have it easier, even though they aren't any better.

How or why do some have it simpler, while others have an unending chain of impediments to normal being, none of which are their own making. I think we are all pawns of a celestial game of probability. Some of us happened to fall into the sample space where success is harder to come by, for no apparent reason. Are there fixed rules determining the outcome of this game? Can we, as mortals equipped with science, extract (model) these rules and live better lives hence? For now, add these questions to my eternal quest list.

I believe what becomes us is a function of what the self strives for and what gets disposed of this by the crazy patterns of make and break in this world. I would not attribute this to a schematic entity called fate - making it sound like a very decisive entity in this mad mad world. In response to your question:
"Can we, as mortals equipped with science, extract (model) these rules and live better lives hence?"

Do as nature does as a game plan for disaster management - diversify your choices, be more open to unseen choices and remind yourself that omnipotency is a supernatural virtue. Hence all we can do is model our gameplan right expecting disaster. Then, there is always dope, if not hope.
